CTC vs non-CTC SSM documents.
A CTC is a certified true copy of an SSM document; a non-CTC copy is the plain, uncertified copy of the same record. SSM’s digital certified true copies are certified by POS Digicert Sdn Bhd. On SAFEDATA-SSM the CTC costs more only because SSM’s own fee for it is higher: a Company Profile is RM13.24 non-CTC and RM23.24 CTC. Buy the CTC when whoever needs the document asks for a certified copy.

What does CTC mean on an SSM document?
CTC stands for certified true copy. On an SSM document, the CTC is the certified version and the non-CTC copy is the plain, uncertified version of the same record.
SSM, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, sets its fee for a company document and, where it offers one, a higher fee for the digital certified true copy. SAFEDATA-SSM, run by Safeguards KioskMedia (M) Sdn. Bhd. as SSM’s appointed Technology and Service Provider, offers both versions of each document that has them, sourced directly from SSM, and you pick one while you buy.
Both are copies of the same SSM record: the CTC is certified, the non-CTC is not. The glossary keeps short definitions of CTC and non-CTC.
How do CTC and non-CTC SSM documents compare?
SAFEDATA-SSM lists both a CTC and a non-CTC price for the Company Profile, the particulars and certificates, and the Financial Historical Comparison; the table sets them against each other with SSM’s own fee behind each price. SAFEDATA-SSM’s Our Products page lists no Business Profile price, so the table shows SSM’s own fee for it; SAFEDATA-SSM’s RM3.00 service fee and 8% SST on it come on top. Why does the CTC cost more?
Every listed price on SAFEDATA-SSM is SSM’s own fee plus SAFEDATA-SSM’s RM3.00 service fee and 8% SST on that fee, RM3.24 in all. SAFEDATA-SSM’s RM3.24 is the same on a CTC and a non-CTC copy, so the whole difference between the two prices is SSM’s fee.
For a Company Profile, SSM charges RM10 for the plain copy and RM20 for the digital CTC, so the CTC costs RM10 more. The particulars, the certificates and the Financial Historical Comparison follow the same pattern at RM20 and RM30. For a Business Profile, SSM’s fee is RM10, or RM15 for the digital CTC: a difference of RM5, with SAFEDATA-SSM’s service fee and SST on top of either.

Which one should you buy?
Start with who will read the document. If it is for you, to check a company or a business before you deal with it, the non-CTC copy shows the same record for less. If another party asked you for the document, ask them which copy they accept before you buy, and buy the CTC if they need a certified copy.

Not on SAFEDATA-SSM’s price list: some documents are listed at a single price, with no CTC version shown. They are the Financial Comparison over 2, 3, 5 or 10 years, the Shareholder Listing and Analysis, the Attestation of Company Good Standing and the Particular of Change of Company Name. No price for Personal Involvement, Company Listing or CSID is listed here.
For two of them, SSM’s own pages say more. SSM lists no CTC fee for the Financial Comparison, only its fees for 2, 3, 5 and 10 years. SSM’s sample of the Attestation of Company Good Standing says it is “computer generated. No signature is required”, and that the recipient can scan its QR code to view the stored copy.
