Bhd., appointed by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) as its Technology and Service Provider for the SAFEDATA-SSM Services. It sells SSM’s own company and business documents, sourced directly from SSM: company and business profiles, company particulars, certificates and financial comparisons. A Company Profile costs RM13.24: SSM’s RM10 fee plus RM3.24 of service fee and SST.

What is SAFEDATA-SSM?
SAFEDATA-SSM is a service portal developed by Safeguards KioskMedia (M) Sdn. Bhd. for the public to purchase SSM documents electronically. The documents are sourced directly from SSM.
SSM is the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia). SAFEDATA-SSM sells SSM’s own documents about a company or a business online, at safedata-ssm.com, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Safeguards KioskMedia runs it, appointed by SSM as its Technology and Service Provider for the SAFEDATA-SSM Services.
What you buy is SSM’s record as SSM holds it: SAFEDATA-SSM gives access to SSM’s records; it does not rate companies or give advice. Safeguards KioskMedia also offers SSM services at Tap.It kiosks.
Is SAFEDATA-SSM an official SSM channel?
SAFEDATA-SSM works under an appointment by SSM. Safeguards KioskMedia states that SSM appointed it as its Technology and Service Provider for the SAFEDATA-SSM Services. SSM’s own Corporate Information page describes a portal of this kind as “a portal provided by service provider (SP) appointed by SSM to deliver company and business information or products for customers online”.
The same SSM page says how the price of each product is set: “The fee for each product/ information provided is based on the fee under schedule (Regulation 8), companies regulations 2017.” On SAFEDATA-SSM, that SSM fee is the first part of every listed price; the second is SAFEDATA-SSM’s own service fee with SST. The documents themselves are sourced directly from SSM.

What can you buy on SAFEDATA-SSM?
SAFEDATA-SSM’s FAQ lists five families of documents on sale: company and business profiles, documents and forms images, company and business certificates, company particulars, and company financial history and comparison. The portal also has tabs for audit firm and LLP documents, company listings, CSID (Company Secretary Information Data) and personal involvement.

What does each SSM document cost on SAFEDATA-SSM?
The board gives SAFEDATA-SSM’s listed prices in ringgit, for a plain (non-CTC) copy and a certified true copy (CTC); a dash means the document has one listed price. Particulars and certificates share one price, and each sits on its own row so that every row leads to the page about that document.

What does SAFEDATA-SSM charge on top of SSM’s fee?
SAFEDATA-SSM charges a service fee on top of SSM’s own fee for each document. In the words of the portal’s FAQ, there is “an additional RM3.00 service fee with 8% SST” on top of the fees imposed by SSM. With the tax, it comes to RM3.24 on each document.
The Company Profile price shows the make-up. SSM’s fee for a Company Profile is RM10, so SAFEDATA-SSM lists it at RM13.24; for the digital certified true copy SSM’s fee is RM20, so the CTC is RM23.24. SSM sets its own fees; the RM3.00 service fee, with 8% SST on it, is what SAFEDATA-SSM adds.
How do you sign up and buy on SAFEDATA-SSM?
Sign up on SAFEDATA-SSM first; sign-up is free. Then buying an SSM document takes four steps, and you can buy anytime over the internet via a personal computer, laptop or mobile device: the portal is open 24 hours, 7 days. After payment the document is in the “My Purchase(s)” menu, and you can download it again within 7 days.
The site switches between English and Bahasa Melayu and is best viewed on the latest Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari. SAFEDATA-SSM lists what its users get: free registration, free consultation, accountability, cost savings, efficiency and convenience.

Which copy, and which profile, do you need?
Buying on SAFEDATA-SSM involves two choices. The first is the copy. A CTC is a certified true copy, and SSM’s digital certified true copies are certified by POS Digicert Sdn Bhd; a non-CTC copy is the plain copy of the same record. The CTC costs more because SSM’s own fee for it is higher.
The second is the profile, for a firm. A company (Sdn Bhd or Berhad) is registered under ROC and has a Company Profile, while a business or enterprise is registered under ROB and has a Business Profile. Each choice has its own comparison page.

SAFEDATA-SSM serves people who need SSM’s record of a company or a business. Safeguards KioskMedia names four kinds of users:

Each gets SSM’s own record of the company or business, sourced directly from SSM. For organisations that need business information in their workflows, SAFEDATA-SSM also lists SAFEDATA-SSM Express (fast response) and SAFEDATA-SSM Custom, and publishes an API catalogue; those that want SSM information inside their own systems can start with corporate solutions.
What if an SSM document shows wrong information?
A document bought on SAFEDATA-SSM shows what SSM holds. If a detail in it is wrong, SAFEDATA-SSM’s FAQ sets out what to do: contact customer service through the Contact Us form, with documentary proof if it is asked for. The agent escalates the case to SSM, and customer service resupplies the amended document, which you can download within 7 days of the resupply.
